Collection

Recycling car tires has been a legal requirement since 1 April 2004. This is included in the Car Tire Management Decree. The government is pushing for high-quality reuse of car tires. Manufacturers and importers in the tire industry are responsible for the collection and environmentally friendly disposal of used car tires.


Gruba Autobanden collects tires throughout the Netherlands and Belgium. We work together with RecyBEM (the Netherlands) and Recytyre (Belgium), who monitor and register the disposal of used tires on behalf of the government.

"RecyBEM":

Since April 1, 2004, we have been organizing the collection and recycling of used car tires from the replacement market in the Netherlands. We collect an old tire for every car tire (new or used) that is put on the Dutch market for the first time. We process the used tires in an environmentally responsible manner. This prevents old tires from lying around in the environment, fewer primary raw materials have to be extracted from nature and CO₂ emissions are avoided.

    For each tire for which you pay a disposal fee, you may also have one tire disposed of by us free of charge.

  • Do you offer tire storage?

    If you dispose of enough tires, you are eligible for a tire storage. We offer a solution for every company. A tire rack or tire container. The measurements are

  • How do I receive the guidance letter?

    All data via RecyBEM goes digital, which is why you will now also receive your guidance receipt by email. Check whether the correct email address is known to us. So that your administration is in order. Never received or lost your receipt? We will easily send you an overview of the collected tires.

  • My company details have changed, what now?

    Have your company details changed? For example your address, Chamber of Commerce number or email address? Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can record this in our administration.
